Overview

 London Metropolitan University, commonly known as London Met is a public research university in London, England.

• The University of North London (formerly the Polytechnic of North London) and London Guildhall University (formerly the City of London Polytechnic) merged in 2002 to create the university.

• With roots going back to 1848, it is one of London’s oldest educational institutions.

• Other universities in London include University of Greenwich, London South Bank, University of Westminster, Middlesex University, Brunel University.

 The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design at the university has been ranked fourth for art in the UK (The Guardian’s University League Tables 2019).

• Its GBP 30 million Science Centre, which is among Europe’s largest science teaching labs.

• Accelerator is the university’s business incubator and helps students who are interested in starting up their own business at or after university.

• Based off-campus in the heart of London’s Tech City in Shoreditch, Accelerator is a thriving entrepreneurial community and is home to 30 innovative early-stage start-ups.
