Overview
• Established as a university in the 1990s, Coventry University has more than 27,000 students and is one of two universities in Coventry.
• Four academic faculties make up the university, with each faculty divided into different schools.
• There are three campuses, including one in the city centre where the majority of university operations take place.
• There are also a further two campuses outside of Coventry, in Scarborough and London.
• Coventry to London is about an Hour and a Half by train.
• The other universities close by include University of Warwick, University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, Aston University.
Reputation
• The university ranked 12th in the Guardian University Guide 2018 its highest ranking yet and received the title of Top New University in the Complete University Guide 2018.
• Subject strengths in The Complete University Guide 2020 rankings include Food Science (7th),Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism (13th) and Drama, Dance and Cinematics (20th) 95% of Coventry University graduates gained employment or continued further study after graduation.
• It has been ranked no.1 in the UK for Film Production and Photography, 5th for Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism, 7th for Building and Town and Country Planning, 9th for Nursing and Midwifery, 10th for Social Work and is in the top 20 for lots of other subjects. The city won the title of UK City of Culture 2021.
