Overview
• Warwick was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand higher education.
• Within the University, Warwick Business School was established in 1967.
• Warwick Law School was established in 1968.
• Warwick Manufacturing Group (now WMG) was established in 1980 and Warwick Medical School was opened in 2000. Warwick is primarily based on a 290 ha (720 acres) campus on the outskirts of Coventry, with a satellite campus in Wellesbourne and a central London base at the Shard.
• It is organized into three faculties—Arts, Science Engineering and Medicine, and Social Sciences—within which there are 32 departments.
• As of 2019, Warwick has around 26,531 full-time students and 2,492 academic and research staff.

• Warwick is a member of AACSB, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Association of MBAs, EQUIS, the European University Association, the Midlands Innovation group, the Russell Group, and Universities UK.
• It is the only European member of the Center for Urban Science and Progress, a collaboration with New York University.
• The university has extensive commercial activities, including the University of Warwick Science Park and Warwick Manufacturing Group.
• Warwick is cited as amongst the UK’s most targeted university institutions by employers and was the world’s third-best young university in 2015.
• In 2017, Warwick was named as the university with the joint second highest graduate employment rate of any UK university (along with St Andrews).
• Warwick is ranked 9th in the UK by The Guardian University Guide 2020, 32nd in the world for its reputation with employers by the QS World University.
• The University of Warwick is ranked 62nd in the QS World University Rankings 2020, with five subject areas listed within the global top 20. imes Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings 2019 named Warwick 8th in Europe for its teaching and learning environment.
• According to the most recent countrywide assessment in the Research Excellence Framework, Warwick was ranked 7th among UK research universities.
• The average salary of Warwick’s 2017 graduates six months after finishing their degree was GBP 26,500, compared to a national average of GBP 21,500 (6th highest paid graduates in the UK, The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2020).
