• Cranfield University is a British postgraduate and research-based public university in Cranfield, Oxfordshire, England specializing in science, engineering, technology and management.

• In 1969 Cranfield was incorporated by the Royal Charter, gained degree awarding powers, and became a university.

• Cranfield University is in the top 1% of institutions in the world for alumni who hold CEO positions at the world’s top companies according to the Centre for World University Rankings, 2017. • Cranfield School of Management’s full-time one-year MBA programme was named 7th in the world and 1st in the UK and its MSc in Finance and Management was named 6th in the world and 2nd in the UK by the Times Higher Education/Wall Street Journal in 2018.
• The university is ranked 6th in the UK and 17th in Europe in the Financial Times European Business Schools 2018 Rankings.
• Their MBA is ranked 9th in the UK, 18th in Europe and 76th in the world in the Financial Times 2019 ranking of full-time MBA programmes.
• It is ranked 5th in the UK, 14th in Europe and 59th in the world in The Economist Which MBA? Rankings 2019.

• There are a number of companies located on the Cranfield University Technology Park. Major companies on the park include, The Nissan Technical Centre Europe, which designs and develops cars for the European market.
• For the last ten years, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), India’s largest aerospace company, and Cranfield University have partnered in a ‘High Flyers’ MSc programme to prepare HAL officers to meet the future challenges of the aerospace sector in India.
• The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO-India) has been sending their scientists on specialist’s courses for nearly 50 years to Cranfield.
• The Indian Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has been sending their officers to Cranfield University for more than 30 years. One of our alumni, Shri SC Bajpai has recently been appointed Director General and Chairman of OFB.
• Cranfield have signed a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the southern state of Telangana to help meet the growing requirements in the defence sector by providing short-term, industry-specific courses to companies as well as fully-fledged courses in Aeronautical Engineering.
