Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign nation comprising the mainland, Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. Known as “Oz” or “Down Under,” it is the largest country in Oceania and the sixth-largest in the world. With a diverse landscape of deserts, rainforests, and mountains, Australia is also the oldest, flattest, and driest inhabited continent. • The Australian Quality Assurance Framework set up by the Australian government has been specially designed to ensure that all Australian universities meet the highest standards of education with a particular focus on structure and rigor.

• The heavy emphasis on ensuring that Australia remains an attractive destination for international students has led to the government simplifying the visa process. The time taken to process visas has significantly been reduced, as have the number of documents required for proof of identification.

• Australian cities have some of the lowest crime rates in the world, and are consistently ranked as some of the most livable in the world

• Dependents (spouse/children) can travel and stay in the country and work (spouse) Students can do 20 hrs. of part time work fortnightly when college is in session and 40 hrs. when college is not in session.

Application Process

Important dates and timeline

Australia generally has two intakes i.e. February and July, with few Universities offering multiple intake in September & November.

• It is suggested that you should start making applications ideally 7-8 months prior to the intake

• There is no common application form to Australian universities and applications have to be made to individual universities on their portal

• University generally takes around 4-6 weeks to process the applications.

• Some courses like Nursing Teaching, Physiotherapy have only one intake in a year hence we advise the students to apply well in advance to start their admission and visa process so that all the process could be completed on time.

• Offers are issued conditional to English Language and final school/ degree mark sheet
